ABOUT TIM CLAUBAUGH

Tim Claubaugh was born and raised in Sandusky and has been Music Director of St. Mary Church since July of 1982. He started piano lessons at age 5 with Mary Patterson, and organ lessons at age 13 with Jim Gardner.

Tim attended Sandusky High School and was in the SHS band (trombone), Orchestra (violin), and A Cappella Choir. He graduated from SHS in 1978 and attended Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music where he studied organ with Dr. Warren Berryman and graduated in 1982 with a degree in Music History. While at BW, he was the Organist and Music Director of the BW Chapel and sang with the BW Bach Festival including their 50th Bach Festival which performed J. S. Bach's "St. Matthew Passion" at the Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

While Tim has been at St. Mary's, he has built up a Music program which includes 4 choirs and 15 cantors. There are currently 80 people involved in the Music Ministry Program at St. Mary's. Tim also has lectured and has been a clinician at workshops and has given numerous organ recitals in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Tim is married to Anita (Hartleib) and they have 6 grown children (4 boys and 2 girls) and 5 grandchildren.
